Description

The British Empire had been colonizing different parts of the world since in the early 1490s. The Crown has had many colonies in the Americas, especially in the 1600s. Over the years, wars have been waged by the captured lands for independence against the Crown. These costly conflicts added a burden to the Empire – Great Britain's debt was increasing at a high-speed rate. To compensate for the expenses, British Parliament enacted several acts to boost each of the colonies' income. However, constituents saw these as unfair, unjust, and plain cruel. What started out as a disagreement in legislation transversed to a more severe event – an imminent war between the colonizer and the colonists.

The American Revolution is an insurrection of 13 North American British territories that resulted in the formation of what we know today as the United States of America. Various battles and sieges were fought, sacrificing the lives of thousands of men. In the end, Britain surrendered the colonies, and America gained its independence.
