Most of us think that stress is synonymous with worry (loss of employment, death of a loved one...). However, for the body, the word stress has a much broader meaning; is synonymous with change. Anything that causes a change in our life causes stress. It doesn't matter if it's a good or bad change, both are stressful. Even imagined changes are stressful: if you fear you won't have enough money to pay your rent, if you're worried about getting fired from your job, if you think you'll get a raise; all of that is stress.
